Production Technician I Job Description The Production Technician I manufactures precision metal etched components using a photo-chemical etching process. This role performs multiple production steps, including metal cutting, cleaning, resist coating, developing, etching, and stripping, while working closely with production leads, manufacturing engineers, and production leadership to ensure products meet quality specifications and move efficiently through the manufacturing workflow. Responsibilities Receive all incoming metal, verify it against work order instructions, and cut it according to specified requirements. Clean metal using dip or conveyor processes to prepare materials for subsequent production steps. Operate and support activities in stripping areas as part of the photo-chemical etching process. Cut and bake metal as required, and perform resist touch-up to maintain product quality and adherence to specifications. Move products to the next operation with all required documentation, ensuring travelers and in-process inspection sheets are fully completed, signed, and dated. Assist in other departments as needed once assigned priorities from supervisors or leads are completed. Follow all established processes and procedures to ensure products meet specifications before submission to Quality Assurance inspection. Promote a cooperative and team-oriented work environment by supporting teamwork, motivation, and positive discipline. Maintain a safe working environment by following safety guidelines and reporting any hazards or issues promptly. Clean and change production chemicals according to schedules, specifications, and direction from supervisors or leads. Essential Skills Good mathematical skills to interpret measurements, work orders, and process specifications. Ability to clearly express concepts verbally and in writing in English. Strong attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations. Willingness to learn and complete training provided for the right candidate. Experience or aptitude in production or general labor environments. Ability to work with hand tools safely and effectively. Capability to follow detailed work instructions and process documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in metal fabrication or related manufacturing environments. Familiarity with metal cutting processes in a production setting. Exposure to cleaning, resist coating, developing, etching, and stripping processes. Background in assembly or fabrication work. Comfort working with photo-chemical etching (PCM) processes or interest in learning this technology. The team consists of a close-knit group of approximately 25 employees in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Work involves handling metal materials, operating production equipment for cutting, cleaning, coating, developing, etching, stripping, and working with production chemicals according to scheduled maintenance and safety procedures. Employees work on-site in a production setting where safety, precision, and adherence to process specifications are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Clara, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
