The Technician Lead will ensure all areas of responsibility are completed by opening and closing the shift, tracking Team Member progress, performing quality inspections, providing supplies and equipment, and informing their supervisor on the status of the team's progress. This position performs a variety of duties that support the department in maintaining a clean environment for patients and staff. Essential Functions Maintains patient confidentiality with the highest level of integrity Working knowledge of Environment of Care Standards, Joint Commission Regulatory requirements Working knowledge of Emergency Preparedness and fire safety protocols Complete working knowledge of communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, isolation standards and transmission-based precautions, chain of infection, hand hygiene to ensure patient safety. Complete working knowledge of different types of hazardous materials (chemotherapy, pharmaceutical, biohazardous, sharps, pathological, microbiological, and bodily fluids) and how to properly handle and dispose Performs routine cleaning (wiping, dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming) of clinical and non-clinical areas (patient rooms, nursing units, offices, waiting areas, restrooms, corridors, sterile processing, operating rooms, pharmacy, radiology, procedure suites, etc.) in a neat and sanitary manner. Clean spills containing blood or other potentially infectious material using established infection control, safety, and ES departmental procedures Isolation differentiation Proper operation of cleaning equipment Accurately complete cleaning logs and job assignments Complete working knowledge of appropriate PPE Proper disinfection and cleaning of patient care areas Inspect patient room furniture to ensure all materials are intact and have cleanable surfaces Ultraviolet light disinfection Chemical exposure response and basic first aidEducation:
High School Diploma/GED - An additional six (6) months of related experience may be considered in lieu of HS diploma/GED . Licensure /Certification:
Valid Florida Driver's License Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years Customer Service experience One (1) year supervisory or project lead experience.NOTE:
Internal candidates with 6 months supervisory or project lead experience may be considered. Eighteen (18) months Environmental Services, housekeeping, linen handling, or cleaning experience One (1) year experience in a healthcare setting Evidence of a good driving record and maintain a good record per Moffitt policyAdditional Skills/Specialized Training Required:
Ability to take initiative and follow oral/written instructions and communicate effectively Ability to work independently and unsupervised at times Ability to use and assist others with computer-related tasks Must complete Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) certification within 18 months of hireLocation:
