NOVO Health keenly focuses on safety and infection control and provides its partner hospitals with a value-driven linen management control system that measures and monitors linen utilization by department to eliminate excess internal costs. NOVO's wide range of service programs offer a variety of options to provide a seamless, single source distribution system. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes. The successful candidate :
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Separate, fold, and properly distribute clean linen. Inspect clean linen to ensure all quality standards have been met. Pouch and label sterile product utilizing the heat-sealing machine. Work within established productivity and quality standards. Make recommendations to facility management for methods of improvement. Mentor and train fellow associates after mastery of tasks. Ability to read and understand all Standard Operating Procedures. Keep workstation neat and clean. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Education, GED and formal education / training preferred. Good analytical skills to be able to determine number of carts required for orders. 1 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or service industry Ability to work in a noisy fast paced environment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from machine for long periods. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Ability to push or pull a cart that may weigh 100 pounds. Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
Physical Requirements :
Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting 50 lbs. or more. Constant pushing/pulling of laundry carts with weights of 250 lbs. is common with some cart weights exceeding 600 lbs. Must be able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift.
Work Environment:
Production areas of a typical industrial laundry facility, which includes working with and around large machinery, variations in temperature, noise, odors, humidity, lint, dust, chemicals, and other hazards.
Education :
High School or GED 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.
