Job Description
The Etch Processor Class 1 will perform Passivation, Etching, Cleaning, and Passivity Testing. In addition, the Etch Processor will assist the Etch Class 2 or 3 Inspector with inspection and test results of material upon completion of the process.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
All ETCH department employees shall be trained and qualified to perform all applicable requirements of Mistras internal procedures and customer supplied specifications, as applicable. These requirements shall include, as a minimum the following: Procedural Training Pre-cleaning, etch, passivation and passivation testing methods. Daily system checks, i.e., rinse water PH checks, etc. Masking requirements. Racking techniques. Draw representative bath/solution for analysis. Perpetration of monthly metallurgical samples for analysis. Waste treatment operation. Handling, preserving, protecting, and packaging parts. Review of Work Orders, Inspection Techniques, Purchase Order, and Quality Records, as part of "Contract Review process." General department safety requirements. Class 2 and 3 Processor will also be trained and qualified to perform the following: Establish daily etch rates using the weight loss method. Solution activity control. Tank Maintenance/Solution Make up Training Safety Training Hazwoper & Emergency Response training and receive a third-party certificate of completion. The trainee will be trained and work under the guidance of the Class 1 Processor, and supervised by the Class 2 or 3 Processor. The trainee shall not independently conduct part/material processing and/or review, evaluate, or report any process operation results. Class 1 Processor cannot designate the particular process method and technique to be used for processing hardware, and shall not independently report results of processing or inspections, and shall not sign off on jobs independently. May sign off on jobs while under the direct supervision of Class 2 or 3 Processors. Exercise assigned responsibility (from Class 2 or 3) for on-the-job training and guidance of trainee personnel. Visual testing inspection as applicable. May be responsible for training and directly supervising Class 1 Operators, as directed from the Class 3 Processor. Training and qualifying etch personnel or direct Class 2 Operators to train and supervise Class 1 Operators (while maintaining ultimate responsibility). Responsible to ensure that all required daily process checks are performed and recorded properly. Ensure that etch personnel are trained and follow all required safety instructions and wear protective equipment when processing and handling hazardous materials. Must be able to follow instructions. Must be detail oriented, have integrity, good work habits, and a willingness to learn new skills. Class 1 Processor candidates must have a minimum of 160 hours of documented training as a trainee working under the direct supervision of a Class 1 or supervised by a Class 2 or Class 3 Inspector. Class 2 Processor candidates must have a minimum of 320 hours of documented training as a Class 1 under the direct supervision of the Class 2 or Class 3. Class 3 Processor candidates must have a minimum of 640 hours of documented training as a Class 2. Must be able to pass Mistras Etch Qualification/Certification Examinations.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
