Job Title:
Pilot Plant Technician - 2nd Shift Job Description Join our team as a Pilot Plant Technician on the 2nd shift, where you will play a crucial role in setting up, sanitizing, and operating equipment for various trials with a focus on the Cereal platform. This position offers an opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge across multiple operations, contributing to the development of beloved food products. Responsibilities Autonomously set up, complete sanitation, and operate equipment for trials. Provide strong customer service across various platforms with a focus on the Cereal platform. Safely operate equipment, adhering to food safety requirements and performing risk assessments. Lead teams in identifying and resolving safety risks in both human and food safety areas. Maintain mastery over multiple unit operations/systems, ensuring efficiency and training others. Lead equipment sanitation activities and inspect post-sanitation. Focus on maintenance, electrical, and controls with technical expertise. Lift, manipulate, and transport ingredients or equipment up to 55 lbs. Essential Skills 1-3 years of experience in production, machine operation, labor roles, or warehouse work. 6-12 months of experience with sanitation, ideally with food-grade chemicals. Experience operating industrial equipment and familiarity with hand tools. Understanding of human and food safety fundamentals, including PPE, HACCP, and Lock-out Tag-out. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Degree or a 2-Year Science Degree/4-Year Science Degree with exposure to food science, dairy science, nutrition, or related coursework. Experience in food production is a plus. Military experience is also a plus. Work Environment This role operates on the 2nd Shift from 2PM to 10PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend hours. The work environment is a pilot plant production setting, collaborating with food product developers and test kitchen staff. The role requires heavy lifting, manual work, and adherence to safety standards in various temperature conditions. Protective clothing and equipment are necessary, and the role involves potential exposure to allergens and industrial machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
