The Ice Cream Production Quality Technician ensures that all ice cream products meet internal quality standards and comply with food safety regulations. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting in-process and finished product testing, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Control & Testing Perform routine sampling and testing of ice cream and frozen dessert products during production and post-packaging. Verify compliance with HACCP, SQF, FDA, and company-specific quality standards. Document and report test results promptly; initiate corrective actions for deviations. Production Support Monitor critical control points during mixing, freezing, filling, and packaging stages. Assist production teams in implementing SOPs for hygiene, sanitation, and quality assurance. Support pilot-scale trials and new product launches in collaboration with R&D. Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate records of inspections, calibrations, and quality audits. Ensure proper labeling and storage of chemicals, reagents, and finished goods. Participate in internal and external audits as required. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to enhance product quality and process efficiency. Collaborate with QA and production teams to implement best practices and reduce waste.POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate degree or technical certification in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related field.Experience:
1-3 years in food manufacturing, preferably dairy or ice cream production.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, SQF). Proficiency in quality testing methods and data entry. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.Physical Requirements:
Environmental exposure to warehouses stored at ambient (60-70° F), refrigerated (35° F), and frozen (minus 20° F) temperatures.Walking:
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for short distances on a regular basis. Subject to up to at least 92db'sLifting:
