Full Job Description Description:
We are Faber-Castell Cosmetics, a division of Faber-Castell (you know us for our pencils and pens). We have taken our expertise to the cosmetic industry. We are one of the leading providers of private label cosmetic pencils (face, eye, lip, and nail). We are almost 800 employees worldwide with production facilities in Germany and Brazil Our clients are well known brands in cosmetics and we are bringing our state-of-the-art facilities, process, and knowledge to Elgin, IL. As bulk production batch maker, you will scale and mix raw chemicals and natural ingredients into large batches that will be used for our pencils. This will involve operating heavy mixing vessels, following strict formulas and adhering to safety and clean room standards.
Responsibilities:
Stage, weigh, scale, and combine raw materials according to precise master batch records and formulas for batch preparation. Meticulously follow all recipe instructions and standard procedures to ensure recipe accuracy and quality. Run and monitor industrial processing equipment, including mixing tanks, homogenizers, and emulsifiers. Collect in-process samples to test key physical properties such as pH, viscocity, etc. before full release. Deeply clean and sterilize equipment between production runs to prevent contamination Learn and follow all proper safety procedures Wear all required personal protective equipment. Log precise weights, temperatures, mixing times, and inventory counts accurately into digital system, SAP. Operate equipment in accordance to safety, quality, and standard work guidelines Other duties as requested
Requirements:
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED 1-3 years' experience in chemical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing. Basic math computations for scaling formulas, mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting machinery, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Principles. Able to follow written processes and communicate in English Must have excellent color perception Basic equipment/mechanical troubleshooting knowledge To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Understand statistical process control, translating product specifications to finished goods.
