Tape Technician

National Gypsum Services Company has an immediate opening for Tape Technicians at our Rensselaer, IN location. This position will report to the Department Manager.

JOB SUMMARY

The Tape Technician safely produces quality joint tape as part of a three-member crew rotating through three main work stations

• sander operator, slitter operator amd core loader.

The core loader and slitter operator rotate every master roll (approx. 1.5 hours), and the sander operator is rotated daily. Essential job functions for each workstation (not all inclusive): Sander operator: Operates in accordance with sander S.O.P. Maintain standard production rate. Collects and documents samples per wax pick testing S.O.P. Enters roll data into spreadsheet. Operates forklift to transport finished product, and raw materials to and from warehouse. Maintenance and trouble-shooting of machinery and equipment; and Housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, picking-up trash, emptying hoppers, etc.

Slitter operator:

Operates slitter in accordance with slitter S.O.P. Maintain standard production rate. Changeover packaging equipment. Collect and store samples. Maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment; and Housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, picking-up trash, emptying hoppers, etc.

Core loader:

Loads cores. Loads raw cartons onto Compacker machine. Operate forklift to transport finished product and raw materials to and from warehouse. Monitors palletizer and wrapper. Enters production data into spreadsheet. Maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment; and Housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, picking-up trash, emptying hoppers, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

One Team mindset. Ability to sand paper in accordance with sander operator S.O.P. Ability to perform wax pick tests according to S.O.P. Ability to collect and process samples. Ability to drive a lift truck. Ability to climb stairs and manually lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, policies and procedures. Ability to stand for long period throughout shift. Available to work overtime and weekends based on production needs.
