Summary Performs preventative maintenance tasks on electroplating equipment, maintains solutions through chemical analysis and adjustments, ensuring quality control, compliance, and proper handling of hazardous materials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and clean electroplating equipment Perform equipment troubleshooting and diagnostics Maintain and clean chemical storage areas and lab equipment Perform pH checks, metal concentration tests, and Hull cell analysis Make chemical adjustments based on testing results Prepare lab solutions and perform volumetric titrations Uphold Positronic's standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence. Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator. Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices. Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education and Experience 1-year certificate in Chemistry or related field OR 3 to 6 months experience as a lab technician OR An equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass appropriate testing to advance in the ABC program. Physical Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting Frequent bending, gripping, and use of lab tools Regular use of handheld measuring devices Lifts 0-30 lbs. frequently; occasionally up to 50 lbs. PPE includes safety glasses, gloves, and apron
Shift:
First Shift (Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm) Working Conditions Work is performed in a climate controlled, well-ventilated lab environment with routine handling of lab chemicals (e.g., nitric/sulfuric acid, copper, gold). Involves handling of hazardous waste in compliance with federal regulations. Competencies Knowledge Knowledge of maintenance procedures and equipment safety. Strong Understanding of chemical solutions and plating chemistry. Proficient in titrations, pH balance, and spectrometry readings. Familiarity with chemical storage practices and labeling compliance. Skills Mechanical and electrical skills. Provide preventive maintenance and work procedures. Skilled in chemical handling, titration, and sample testing. Ability to work independently in a lab environment. Competent in using lab instruments and managing chemical documentation. Abilities Arm-hand steadiness and manual precision with lab tools. Near vision and color distinction for chemical evaluation. Capacity to lift and manage chemicals safely and frequently. Ability to stay focused during repetitive testing tasks.
