Job Description

We are hiring a US Fleet Operations Lead Dispatcher to own and scale a portfolio of 15-30 independent (1099) drivers. This is a high-performance role for someone who wants real ownership, direct impact on revenue, and the opportunity to grow within a fast-scaling freight and technology operation. You will operate at the intersection of dispatch, operations, and financial performance — with full accountability for outcomes. Driver Portfolio Ownership (P&L Responsibility) Own the full operational and financial performance of a dedicated portfolio of 15-30 drivers. Each truck and driver is a revenue-generating unit, and you are responsible for maximizing its output.
You will:
Source and secure high-quality freight through internal tools and the Billor broker network Optimize revenue per truck while actively managing costs (fuel, deadhead, maintenance, downtime, etc.) Make real-time decisions that directly impact profitability and utilization Act as the primary operator and escalation point for your drivers Maintain strong driver relationships while driving consistent execution Balance short-term performance with long-term retention and stability Dispatch & Operations Manage and execute loads in real time, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery Plan routes using HOS to maximize productive miles Communicate clearly and proactively with Driver Customers and Broker Partners Anticipate and resolve issues (delays, detention, rejections, disruptions) Ensure accurate, timely documentation (BOLs, PODs, check calls) Operational & Financial Performance Optimize RPM and overall load profitability Evaluate every load through a cost vs. revenue lens Reduce deadhead and increase paid miles Monitor fuel usage and drive efficiency Ensure clean documentation for timely billing Efficiency & Continuous Improvement Leverage TMS and Billor technology to improve execution Identify and close performance gaps Reduce deductions through better planning and discipline Continuously refine how the portfolio is managed and scaled Driver & Asset Management Manage drivers across varying experience levels Balance home time with operational performance Coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime Support drivers through breakdowns and critical situations Address performance issues quickly and directly Reporting Structure First 30-90 days: Reports directly to Head of Freight (US) Long term: Integrated into a hybrid structure with international support in Brazil This role also serves as a key operator and SME, helping elevate dispatch standards across the organization. Compensation Base salary + performance-driven commission (paid monthly) Commission tied to gross revenue and key KPIs Significant upside as portfolio size and efficiency increase
