Job Overview We are seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and infection control. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the sterilization, preparation, and management of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of sterile processing procedures, anatomy, and physiology, ensuring that all instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained for optimal clinical use. Duties Perform thorough cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical devices following established protocols. Inspect instruments for damage or wear, ensuring all equipment is in optimal condition before use. Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, accurately documenting usage and restocking as needed. Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and equipment maintenance in compliance with regulatory standards. Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques during handling, assembly, and packaging of sterile items. Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare necessary instruments for upcoming procedures efficiently. Follow all safety guidelines related to biohazard handling, chemical use, and infection control practices. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with advances in sterile processing technology and protocols. Requirements Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician from an accredited program or organization. Proven experience in sterile processing within a healthcare environment. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures. Familiarity with medical terminology and instrument identification. Proficiency in inventory management systems and documentation practices. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control standards mandated by healthcare regulations. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
