Job Summary Plating Technology is seeking a dependable Production Operator to operate and monitor automated metal plating equipment. This position is responsible for safely running production equipment, maintaining required process parameters, performing quality checks, and completing production documentation. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and able to follow established work instructions and procedures. Responsibilities Operate automated metal plating equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor and maintain required operating parameters, including pH, temperature, chemical levels, and other process controls. Inspect barrels before loading to ensure no parts remain from the previous order. Retrieve parts from designated staging areas and load barrels according to work instructions and specifications. Monitor production throughout the plating process and immediately notify a supervisor of quality or processing concerns. Perform required quality checks, including: Coating thickness Proper chromate/passivation Seal or topcoat Oil or other specified finishes Attach inspection and test results to the appropriate work traveler. Move completed jobs to the designated final staging area. Complete production logs accurately and legibly each day. Retain and properly label required production samples and place them in the designated storage area at the end of the shift. Inspect and clean electrical contacts as required before line startup. Verify that drums, totes, and chemical supplies contain adequate material for feeder pumps before startup. Do not mix parts or production lots unless specifically authorized by a supervisor. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures. Essential Job Functions Candidates must be able to: Read and follow written work instructions. Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers. Understand and operate automated line control panels. Walk and inspect the production line at least twice every 30 minutes. Frequently stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, crouch, climb, balance, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions. Read information displayed on control panels and visually inspect finished parts for quality. Physical Requirements This position involves heavy physical work and may require: Lifting or exerting up to 100 lbs. occasionally Lifting or exerting up to 50 lbs. frequently Lifting or exerting up to 20 lbs. regularly throughout the shift Work Environment This position is performed in an active manufacturing facility and includes: Frequent forklift traffic A non-climate-controlled production environment Exposure to seasonal temperature changes Manufacturing and equipment noise Moving mechanical equipment Electrical equipment Industrial chemicals Fumes, odors, and dust Required personal protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed at all times. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous manufacturing experience preferred Forklift experience preferred Experience operating automated production equipment is a plus Ability to follow detailed safety and quality procedures Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
