This role leads a contents crew, ensures accurate documentation for insurance purposes, and provides compassionate, professional service to customers during stressful times. The Lead Technician also trains junior technicians and works closely with project managers to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to industry standards. Duties Lead and supervise contents technicians during pack-out, cleaning, storage, and pack-back. Own the inventory process, including creating detailed inventories of client belongings using company software. Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of items to prevent damage or loss. Oversee cleaning, deodorization, and restoration of contents as needed. Communicate with customers about the process and address concerns with care and professionalism. Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and insurance adjusters to ensure accuracy in documentation. Train and mentor new team members on best practices and company procedures. Maintain safety, organization, and cleanliness on job sites and in storage facilities. Monitor quality control to ensure items are returned in pre-loss condition. Skills High school diploma or equivalent (required). 2+ years of experience in contents restoration or related field (preferred). Experience leading a crew or team IICRC Fire & Smoke Restoration (FSRT) or Contents Processing certifications a plus Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques for textiles, furniture, and electronics. Leadership or supervisory experience a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Familiar and able to use inventory and job management software. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in a variety of environments. Compassionate, customer-focused approach.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, or crouch while handling contents. Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds frequently. Repetitive motion tasks, such as packing, lifting, and cleaning items. Manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment and restoration tools. Ability to wear protective gear and respirators when working in contaminated environments.WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in both residential and commercial properties affected by fire, smoke, water, or other damages. Frequent work in warehouse or storage facilities with exposure to dust, odors, and cleaning chemicals (PPE provided and required). Environments may be hot, cold, damp, or poorly ventilated depending on project needs. Frequent driving of company vehicles between job sites. Participation in an on-call rotation for emergency response needs. Interaction with customers under stressful circumstances requiring professionalism, empathy, and discretion.Pay:
