Job Description

Production Operator Boyertown, PA 1 DAYS AGO 22642717 Summary Boyertown, PA In-Person $27.58 per Hour 0 Years Experience High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED) No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description Position will be responsible for operating manufacturing equipment and processes including thermal reductions, vacuum furnaces, blenders, screeners and hot operations dealing with acids and other chemicals. The position will collect process data and respond to irregularities based on key process variables and critical to quality product properties.

The Position requires lifting, pushing, pulling, scooping, measuring and completion of minor chemical analysis.

Position is responsible for individual safety as well as the safety of others working in the area. Key Areas of Responsibility Adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) policies and procedures. Responsible for the completion of Hot Work, Line Break, Lock, Tag & Try, contractor work permits and other SH&E permits.

Maintain a questioning attitude to ensure a safe work environment. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions. Complete necessary forms, charts, etc. to document the process.

Respond appropriately to process variations. Ability to safely work with hazardous materials. Daily inspection of equipment. Troubleshoot equipment as needed and perform simple maintenance tasks (ie. Sodium truck hook-up/un-hook; grease or replace the filter bottom wheel). Ability to work in a team environment and move to where the work is required. Train co-workers on job tasks as required. Ability to operate several pieces of machinery at the same time. Perform housekeeping and 5S. Operate forklift and other motorized transportation equipment as necessary. Communicate the status of the operation to the shift following. Report to work station on time in order to receive operation status from previous shift. Sample, log and deliver samples to the laboratory. Participate in safety efforts (VPP, JHAs, etc.) and CIP teams Required Skills Ability to read and follow SOPs and work instructions and work safely. Initiative Working with others and dealing with people Willingness to participate on teams Motor coordination Ability to plan activities Memory of written directions Following precise standards Knowledge of Chemical manufacturing industries including dealing with hazardous chemicals. Knowledge of computers, PLC operations, ability to read work instructions and P&ID's. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk between several buildings. Physically Demanding, scooping, lifting bags, trays, buckets, jack hammer and using dead blow hammers. Ability to operate stand up fork trucks, tow motors, overhead cranes and other lifting devices Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and hazardous waste in accordance with applicable federal (RCRA) and state (PA DEP) regulations.
