About the role We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and processes. This position is primarily responsible for reviewing batch sheets, properly selecting weights of the raw material, and mixing products to specifications on the batch sheet. The production operator is responsible for verifying all products to conform to quality standards and specifications and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute the manufacture of quality finished product blends according to instructions provided on Production Orders and Standard Operating Procedures by selecting the appropriate product recipes and selecting the appropriate raw materials, packaging, and labeling. Ensure that all finished product packaging is correctly weighed, neatly stacked, centered on pallets, properly labeled, clean, and in shippable form. Complete all production paperwork as required for quality and traceability purposes and provide to Production Department upon completion of shift. Collect and properly label the required representative sample(s) of each production blend and provide to the QC/QA Laboratory for testing. Meet the continuous production requirements for planned production, perform required cleanouts and product transitions, and use appropriate partial bags and rework as instructed. Maintain clean work areas throughout and at the end of a shift. General housekeeping as assigned by the leadership. Must immediately clean all spills or damaged materials and empty the central and portable vacuum systems as needed. Operate Powered Industrial Truck{s) for materials handling and proper staging of raw materials during shift and for subsequent shift. Help to maintain production breakroom and locker room facilities in clean and suitable condition for co-workers. Provide adequate raw materials and packaging supplies at shift end to be used at the startup of subsequent shift to facilitate continuous production. Operate forklift as required. Using RF scanner to scan each raw material needed per batch tickets into SAP. Assist in physical inventory and cycle counting efforts. Maintain accurate inventory records for all materials used/discarded. Support and promote a culture of safety first by personal demonstration of appropriate safety behaviors and actively caring for others. Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma or GED preferred Experience in manufacturing environment or previous chemical manufacturing preferred Ability to read, write, and comprehend Englis, and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to perform basic match including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Must be able to forklift certified within the 30 days of hire.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires working in an open production facility.
Specific physical demands include:
Frequent ability to walk, stand, move, reach, and/or navigate in an open warehouse environment. Frequent lifting up to 55lbs. Frequent movement of objects up to 2500lbs with proper lifting devices. This position requires working in an open production facility in areas that may or may no have temperature controlled.
Conditions include:
Working inside where temperature may reach or exceed 90-100For possibly fall below 32F. Frequent exposure of product dust. Some interaction with skin sensitizers and corrosive materials. This position requires compliance with specific Personal Protective Equipment , including but not limited to: Safety glasses Safety Toe Shoes Hard hats Face shield and/or N95 dust mask Tyvek sleeves, coat or overalls Respirator when and if required ANSI approved Gloves. This position requires valid authorization to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
