Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Job Description Job Description We are seeking an experienced Process Technician / Injection Molding Setup Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for producing high-quality dispensing closures in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will have experience with plastics manufacturing, machine setups, mold changes, troubleshooting production issues, and maintaining quality standards. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential. Key Responsibilities Perform machine setups, changeovers, mold changes, and process adjustments. Ensure all molding and automation equipment is operating efficiently and to production standards. Troubleshoot process, machine, material, and quality issues to minimize downtime. Monitor machine parameters including temperature, pressure, cycle time, and material flow. Start up machines and complete mold, color, and material changes as required. Review production setups and verify compliance with quality and efficiency standards. Analyze defects and determine root causes related to materials, machines, molds, or operator practices. Perform die cleaning, mold cleaning, and preventive maintenance activities. Remove debris from hot runner molds and maintain clean production equipment. Monitor production cycles and inspect parts for quality defects. Document production issues, machine performance, and corrective actions. Communicate shift-to-shift updates and production concerns to team leaders and supervisors. Coordinate maintenance requests and communicate repair needs with appropriate departments. Ensure proper machine shutdown procedures for extended downtime. Support labor efficiency, production goals, quality requirements, and workplace safety initiatives. Handle raw materials and finished goods using proper material handling procedures. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Experience in plastics manufacturing. Experience performing machine setups and changeovers independently. Material handling experience. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to pass math and matching assessments. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Highly Preferred Injection molding experience. Plastics processing experience, particularly with:- Injection Molding Extrusion Thermoforming Experience with mold changes, tooling changes, and die cleaning. Experience monitoring and adjusting machine parameters.
