Production Operator - Industrial Coatings Job Description The Production Operator produces industrial coatings by accurately measuring, mixing, and batching raw materials according to established formulas and standard operating procedures. This role operates production equipment, monitors product quality, and maintains precise records while working in a clean, process-driven, and safety-focused manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Produce industrial coatings by measuring, mixing, and batching raw materials according to established formulas and detailed SOPs. Operate production equipment such as mixers, scales, and batching systems in a safe and efficient manner. Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily output and quality targets. Monitor product quality throughout the production process and promptly report any deviations or issues. Maintain accurate production, batching, and inventory records using basic systems such as SAP or other production tracking tools. Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of mixers, scales, and related production equipment. Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies, including proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols. Handle chemicals, coatings, paints, and solvents safely and according to established procedures. Document work clearly and completely to support traceability, quality control, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support different production needs or tasks as required. Contribute to a process-driven, quality-first culture by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work area. Essential Skills Experience with production or assembly work, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience measuring, mixing, or batching materials such as liquids, chemicals, or coatings. Ability to strictly follow formulas, SOPs, work instructions, and structured production processes. Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality, consistency, and accurate documentation. Comfort operating scales, mixers, and other production equipment. Knowledge of or exposure to safety protocols in manufacturing or chemical-handling environments. Ability to document work and use basic systems such as SAP or other production tracking tools. Ability to lift, stand, and work on feet throughout the shift. Capability to work safely with chemicals and industrial materials, including paints, coatings, and solvents. Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Prior manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience preferred. Experience with batching, mixing, chemical handling, and paint or coatings production is a plus. Familiarity with quality control practices in a process-driven environment. Understanding of safety, PPE usage, and environmental compliance in a production setting. Mechanical aptitude and comfort performing basic equipment checks or routine maintenance. You work with paints, coatings, solvents, and other industrial materials while using required personal protective equipment such as respirators, gloves, and safety gear. The production floor operates on a team-based model with supervisor oversight, clear procedures, and defined shift structures, offering a structured and organized workplace.
