Manufacturing Engineering Technician, Process Development Tesla Motors, Inc. paid holidays, flex time, 401(k) United States, Texas, Brookshire May 14, 2026 What to Expect Tesla is looking for a highly motivated process development technician for supporting the Engineering Staff in the development and production of lab and pilot scale advanced energy storage technology projects and programs. The position is very hands-on and will require operation of test equipment and pilot production equipment used to produce energy storage devices. The successful candidate will work with and take direction from engineers supporting the overall objectives of the development program. A wide range of activities will make up this role with hands-on work being a dominant portion of the job. Attention to detail, along with the strong analytical skills acquired, will be an essential aspect of the job responsibilities. Exceptional communication abilities and the adaptability to engage with cross-functional technical teams are imperative. As an Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and meticulousness of our processes, combining engineering fundamentals with a scientific approach to experimental design, data collection, and analysis. What You'll Do Compile experimental data. Analyze data using statistical technique. Analyze trends or patterns to assist the Engineer in identifying suitable limits and variables for enhancing processes and ensuring scalability Assist in the assembly, testing, and analysis of engineering prototypes to validate design assumptions and identify opportunities for improvement Perform hands-on troubleshooting and analysis of pilot production equipment and test systems to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions Operate, maintain, and calibrate test equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all testing processes Document, identify and review technical requirements with engineering staff to ensure compatibility of processing methods developed with materials and other considerations for pilot scale manufacturing Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, reliability, and test engineers, to address technical challenges and contribute to product design enhancements Perform processing equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and identify/procure replacement parts What You'll Bring Minimum 2 years of experience as an engineering technician in an energy technology or process development environment Ability to disassemble and reassemble electromechanical systems independently, demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude in addition to having strong problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical and mechanical systems Proficient in mechanical fabrication, expert-level skills with hand and power tools, experience in machine shop operations is a plus.
