Pressure testing equipment Manual assembly Industrial maintenance API standards Full Job Description Reports to the Production Manager $52,000 - $62,000/year + annual profit bonus Why this job is different Most valve shops hire hands. We're hiring someone who will eventually own how the work gets done. Swissfluid USA builds and tests fully lined process valves, actuated assemblies, and pharmaceutical sampling systems for chemical and pharma customers across North America. Our shop is small — a handful of people who build everything we ship. There is no station on a line here. You will learn the entire product portfolio, and the person who masters it becomes the person the shop runs on. If you've spent years being the one everybody walks over to when the assembly won't seal, read on. What you'll do Year one — learn the product cold: Assemble lined ball, butterfly, and sampling valves — PTFE and PFA lined bodies, seats, stem seals Mount and set up pneumatic and electric actuators, ISO 5211 topworks, limit switches and positioners Torque sequencing and bolt-up on lined bodies, where a wrong sequence destroys the liner Hydrostatic and pneumatic shell and seat testing to customer PO spec, with documented results Read GA drawings, BOMs, and customer specs without being walked through them Work to calipers and micrometers; pull parts, stage jobs, and support pack-out and inventory accuracy As you grow into it: Help plan the shop's build schedule against the order book Train and check the work of others, including office staff who rotate through the shop to learn the product Own first-article and final inspection; stop a job that isn't right Improve the process — fixtures, standard work, test documentation, 5S Provide real coverage when the production lead is out, so the shop never has a single point of failure What we're looking for 5+ years hands-on mechanical assembly in an industrial environment — valves, actuation, rotating equipment, instrumentation, or flow control Documented pressure testing experience to written spec (hydro and/or pneumatic) Comfortable with drawings, schematics, and BOMs Evidence you've carried more than your own work: trained people, run a shift, or been the go-to on your team Forklift certified (or certifiable), able to lift 50 lbs and stand a full shift Someone who slows down and gets it right rather than shipping something questionable to make a date Preferred, not required: lined valve (PTFE/PFA) experience, actuator sizing and setup, ERP/MRP systems, quality inspection background, welding or fabrication.
