Job Description
What You Bring Education High School Diploma Preferred:
or equivalent Experience Minimum of 1 yearRequired:
Experience in a Sterile Processing setting required, with experience in all surgical specialtiesPreferred:
Completion of a National Central Service Technician courseRequired:
Experience with Neuro, Ortho, and General Surgical instrumentationCredentials Required:
Natl Sterile Processing/Distribution Certification Certification from IAHCSMM, as a Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST), or certification from CBSPD as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech (CSPDT) or other nationally recognized certifying bodyRequired:
Certification from IAHSCMM as a Certified Instrumentation Specialist. Skills Basic computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required) Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communications in English. (Required) Understanding/knowledge of workflow principles and infection control. (Required) Application of sterilization principles and operate steam sterilizers. (Required) Knowledge of surgical instrumentation including surgical specialties. (Required) Knowledge of patient care equipment and its use. (Required) Working Conditions Lifting Ability to move around area with occasional sitting. Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment, frequently.Lift/Carry:
Frequently up to 25 lbs.Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 10 lbs. force. Reaching frequently. Squat/ kneel occasionally. Environmental Conditions Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
