Job Description:
Chemical Processor Responsible for chemical cleaning and etching processes for sheet metal aircraft components. Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform chemical cleaning and etching operations on a variety of highly complex and challenging details and final assemblies.
  • Ability to be certified for and use a respirator during etch processing.
  • Clean various metal parts through the use of a wide array of processes such as hand wiping, detergent wash, pressure wash, vibro cleaning, vapor degreasing, solvent washing, alkaline/caustic chemical cleaning and nitric acid etching.
  • Properly mix chemicals in correct proportions and monitor temperatures, spec and code limits.
  • Able to read and understand manufacturing planning and sketches.
  • Able to read and understand precautions and safety criteria.
  • Process as indicated by manufacturing planning instructions.
  • Detect faulty processes and provide input for their resolution.
  • Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gages and other inspection devices.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning (including correct quantities) and paperless timecard system.
  • Work under limited oversight.
  • Full understanding of acid etch room equipment functions and development of acid etch processing techniques.
  • Knows when to stop and ask for clarification. HS Diploma or GED Required Entry level
  • Will Train Working Conditions Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/chemical goggles, hearing protection, respirator, and heat-reflective gloves as required.
Physical Requirements Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing and handling of material.
