Whey Operator - 3rd shift Burnett Dairy Cooperative | Dairy Manufacturing Burnett Dairy Cooperative is hiring a Whey Operator to support overnight whey processing operations. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and cleaning whey processing equipment while ensuring product quality, safety, and accurate documentation. This role is ideal for someone who works well independently, is detail-oriented, and is comfortable in a production environment.

$24.50 per hour
Job Summary:
The Whey Process Operator is responsible for whey-based products from the time whey enters the pasteurizer until it leaves the plant as whey protein concentrate or whey permeate. This position involves operating and monitoring processing equipment, performing cleaning and CIP functions, loading product, and accurately recording process data. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and clean whey processing equipment, including: Whey pasteurizer U.F. and R.O. systems Polisher systems CIP systems and associated silos Monitor and record operating data, including temperatures, pressures, ratios, and solids Maintain equipment such as pumps, plates, membranes, and silos Load and wash trucks as required Ensure equipment is operating properly and report maintenance needs Follow all food safety, SQF, GMP, and company policies Safely work independently for extended periods Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma preferred Manufacturing or food production experience preferred Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Good written and verbal communication skills Reliable attendance and flexibility to work scheduled shifts, weekends, and holidays Physical & Work Environment Requirements Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs Prolonged standing and monitoring of equipment Frequent reaching, bending, gripping, and repetitive hand motions Ability to climb ladders and work around low-hanging pipes Use of hand trucks and pallet jacks Work in warm, humid, and industrial environments
