Pilgrim Aerospace is a leader in precision fastener manufacturing for the aerospace industry. We specialize in high-performance fasteners that meet stringent industry standards. We are looking for an experienced CNC Operator to join our team in Arizona. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled operator to contribute to the production of high-quality fasteners used in critical aerospace applications.
Job Summary:
The CNC Operator will be responsible for operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce fasteners that meet precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of CNC machining, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards while meeting production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine operation: Operate CNC machines, including milling and turning centers, to produce fasteners and other components. Adjust machine settings, tooling, and fixtures to ensure accurate and efficient production. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain tolerances and improve operational efficiency.
Quality Control & Inspection:
Perform in-process inspections of finished components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Ensure parts meet customer specifications and quality standards by checking dimensions, surface finishes, and other critical parameters. Document inspection results and report any discrepancies to the Production Manager or quality control team.
Process Optimization & Efficiency:
Report to Team Lead to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine performance or quality control in a timely manner. Collaborate with the Production Manager and other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacements as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to CNC machines, tooling, and fixtures. Work with the maintenance team to address more complex machine malfunctions.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Report any safety hazards, machine issues, or equipment malfunctions to the Production Manager.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine settings, and quality control data. Provide regular updates to the Production Manager regarding production progress, machine performance, and any issues encountered during machining operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical certification in CNC machining or a related field (preferred). 2+ years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the fastener or precision machining industry. Proficiency in CNC operation. Experience with CNC mills and lathes, and knowledge of machine controls and tooling. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications. Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and the ability to inspect parts to tight tolerances. Basic troubleshooting and mechanical skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality standards. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members and management. Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
