Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Turret Operator and become a vital part of our precision-driven production process! The Turret Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining turret-style machinery (such as CNC turret or punch presses) to manufacture precision parts according to specifications and perform machine maintenance. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment. Your expertise will ensure efficient, accurate, and safe operations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Set up and operate turret machines, including CNC turret or punch presses, based on production requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining specifications. Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and attachments for each job. Monitor machine operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency. Adjust machine settings (speed, feed, alignment) to achieve optimal performance. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime. Maintain production records and document completed work. Follow all workplace safety procedures and ensure a clean, organized work area. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality control teams to resolve technical issues. Skills Proficiency in operating punch press machinery, stamping presses, press brakes, and CNC Laser cutting machines. Experience with CNC controls, Amada Vipros, or Pega Punch Presses. Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining, fabrication, tooling setup, and blueprint reading. Ability to program CNC equipment accurately; familiarity with G-code or other CNC programming languages is highly desirable. Knowledge of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control. Experience with quality inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting technical drawings; understanding of manufacturing processes is essential. Ability to read and interpret technical documents. Basic mechanical skills for machine maintenance. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers. Experience in blueprint reading and interpretation. Knowledge of tooling processes and machining techniques. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Mechanically inclined and technically adept. Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience. Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interfaces. Adhere to health and safety regulations within the workplace. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred. Previous experience operating turret machines. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with precision measuring tools and quality control standards. Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Works well individually or within a team. Ability to understand and read/write in English. Great attention to detail. Knows when to seek clarification on problems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
