Job Description
We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator II with 5th Axis Mill experience to join our manufacturing team. This position is ideal for a skilled CNC machinist who is comfortable operating CNC equipment, performing basic setups and adjustments, reading blueprints, and producing precision parts to close tolerances. The CNC Operator II is responsible for operating CNC machining centers and performing progressive machining operations while maintaining high standards for quality, accuracy, safety, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machining centers, including 5th Axis Mills Load and secure materials using appropriate clamps, fixtures, and tooling Operate CNC machines to perform milling, drilling, facing, threading, profiling, and contouring operations Follow programming instructions, setup sheets, work orders, and machine operating instructions Read and interpret basic to intermediate blueprints and production specifications Make basic machine adjustments and identify tooling or programming issues Produce precision parts within established tolerances and finish specifications Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet customer and quality requirements Use basic measuring instruments to verify dimensions and part quality Complete work order and production paperwork accurately Maintain production counts and assist with packaging as needed Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Communicate with supervisors regarding work order priorities and production needs Assist with training and supporting other team members Follow all safety procedures and quality standards Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement activities Work overtime as needed Qualifications Previous CNC machining experience required Experience operating CNC mills; 5th Axis Mill experience strongly preferred Knowledge of CNC machining techniques and methods Ability to perform basic CNC setups and adjustments Familiarity with CNC machine operating procedures and programming instructions Ability to read and interpret basic to intermediate blueprints Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other basic measuring instruments Basic to intermediate math skills Strong attention to detail and quality Good problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to work overtime when required
