Job Title:
CNC Machine Operator Job Description This role involves operating CNC machines to produce small, high-precision aerospace components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will interpret blueprints, set up and run CNC mills and lathes, and use precision measuring tools to ensure every part meets strict aerospace quality standards. Responsibilities Operate CNC mills and CNC lathes to manufacture small aerospace parts according to production specifications. Interpret and work from engineering blueprints to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining processes. Set up CNC machines, including loading programs, selecting tools, and adjusting machine parameters as required. Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and ensure consistent part quality throughout the production run. Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and other gauges to inspect and verify part dimensions. Handle and process sheet metal and other materials safely and accurately during machining and assembly operations. Perform basic grinding operations as needed to achieve required finishes or tolerances. Assemble machined components as required to meet aerospace product specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following established safety and housekeeping standards. Identify and report any equipment issues, quality concerns, or process deviations to the appropriate personnel. Essential Skills Proven experience operating CNC machines in a production environment. Hands-on experience with CNC mills and CNC lathes. Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency in CNC operation, including machine setup and basic program adjustments. Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and other gauges to verify part dimensions. Experience working with aerospace components or within an aerospace manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. Ability to follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with grinding operations in a machining or fabrication setting. Professional experience working with sheet metal in a manufacturing environment. Assembly experience involving machined or fabricated components. Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and quality expectations. Capability to work effectively as part of a production team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors. The position involves standing for extended periods, working near operating machinery, and adhering to standard industrial attire such as appropriate workwear and protective equipment as required for a machine shop environment. Work hours typically follow structured production shifts, with expectations for reliability and punctuality to support consistent output and on-time delivery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pacoima, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
