Job Description
Opportunity Overview Are you a CNC Equipment operator who thrives in fast paced team environment? If you have a background rooted in manufacturing, enjoy all facets of operating our CNC (computer numeric controlled) equipment which is machine designed to process material in a highly efficient and safe manner. In this role, you will read and decipher CAD drawings for a project(s), set up your machine, inspect metal before running it, and make adjustments as needed, you would also perform regular maintenance on the machine to ensure the equipment stays in good working order. This encompasses strong attention to detail in quality control and the ability to often work independently. Structure:
The CNC Equipment Operator position is located In Oroville on an 18 acre lot with newly innovated technology both in our equipment and our software systems. You would report to the Misc. Shop Supervisor and be supported by the Misc. Department, The nature of this role requires that at the onset of your shift you inspect the machine and material to the cut list and set up pre-run and post checks. Understanding how long batches take to run and managing that time well is essential. Safety is key in this position; you would need to be able to Identify and report potential safety concerns to your supervisor or shop lead. These are just a mile high view of responsibilities in this growing position.Your Day-to-Day:
Keep in close contact with the Misc. Supervisor for any and all questions, direction, or issues Identify raw materials, i.e.: beams, tube, angle, etc. to the correct material sizes per program The ability to read CAD drawings Operate computer numeric controlled (CNC) equipment Run material through production board priority list, in the most efficient manner possible in order to keep the proper inflow of material to the shop. Unless otherwise directed Keep a close eye on the quality of the processed materials, checking for correct overall lengths & hole sizes. At a minimum of every 5th piece, if a problem is found notify quality control personnel Scan, track, label and check off batches Be aware of any maintenance the machine requires and notify a supervisor if and when the equipment isn't performing to standard. Participate in safety trainings and maintain a safe working environment Operate the equipment in a high standard of safety, following all equipment standards Be sure to wear proper PPE while cleaning and maintaining said equipment. To include safety glasses at all times, must wear mask when cleaning or dealing with dust material collector, and gloves when handling material. What You Bring to theTeam:
Experience working in manufacturing Knowledge and experience in computer numeric controlled (CNC) equipment operation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to safety & quality control issues Follow all established safety protocols and procedures Must be proficient in the use and/or operation of the following tools: measuring tapes, protractors, Steel Square, and any other commonly used fabrication tools. Ability to work independently to accomplish day to day tasks. Understanding of Metal Works production procedures including, but not limited to QC, document control, material handling practices, and job hour tracking. Become forklift certified and the ability to safely operate a forklift. Judgement and decision-making, solid subjective abilities Ability to work a flexible schedule or after hours as neededPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CNC
