(est. 1946) is looking for motivated individuals to join our manufacturing team as a CNC Lathe Setup/Operator. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathes to produce high-quality, precision metalworking components. This is a full-time, 2nd shift (2:30PM - 11:00PM) position machinist role located in Santa Ana, CA. Responsibilities Set up CNC lathe machines (install tooling and fixtures - parts per blueprints and specifications. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to machine setup and operation within a manufacturing setting. Ability to update G-code on machines as needed. Skilled in interpreting technical drawings to determine machining requirements and tolerances. Conduct in-process inspections using precision measurement instruments including but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators Understand GD&T symbols and concepts such as flatness, perpendicularity, position, concentricity, etc. to ensure fit, form and function of parts. Perform routine machine maintenance for optimal performance. Follow lean manufacturing principles by maintaining organized workstations, minimizing waste, and continuously seeking process improvements. Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, feed rates, speeds, and tolerances in machining tasks. Skills and Qualifications Previous experience (2-3 years) in setting up/operating CNC lathes. Manual lathe work experience is a plus. Experience working with inconel 718 is a plus. Knowledgeable in
