CNC Mill Operator Job Description The CNC Mill Operator sets up and operates CNC and conventional milling equipment to produce precision parts to exact specifications. This role loads and runs production lots, monitors machine performance, inspects parts during production, and maintains quality and safety standards in an industrial manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate CNC machining centers and conventional machines to run production lots of precision parts. Load parts and monitor machine operations throughout the production run. Inspect and monitor parts during production to ensure they meet required dimensions and tolerances. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances. Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently met. Deburr and blend machined parts to meet finish and quality requirements. Perform basic grinding operations as needed to complete parts. Use measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions. Perform daily machine maintenance, including checking fluid levels, removing chips, and cleaning equipment. Maintain accurate paperwork and production documentation. Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Perform labor-intensive tasks such as heavy lifting and bending as required by the work. Adhere to all attendance policies and safety requirements, including proper use of PPE. Essential Skills Proven CNC mill operating experience in a production environment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, dimensions, and tolerances. Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Experience with basic deburring and blending of machined parts. Ability to perform basic grinding operations. Capability to perform laborious work, including heavy lifting and frequent bending. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a loud, industrial setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating 5-axis CNC equipment is a plus. Experience working with grinders and related finishing equipment. Familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes, especially large component machining. Strong organizational skills for maintaining paperwork and an orderly work area. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility producing large airplane parts. You will work around big, loud CNC and conventional machines that generate heat when running. The position is on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Personal protective equipment, including hearing protection and safety glasses, is required at all times in production areas. The work involves standing for extended periods, handling heavy parts, and working in a busy, fast-paced shop environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vista, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
