Job Title:
Lead CNC Operator Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Lead CNC Operator to oversee 2nd shift operations and support a team of machinists in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on CNC setup and operation with leadership responsibilities, including troubleshooting, training, and maintaining production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support a small team of CNC operators during shift Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes using conversational programming Identify and resolve machining issues, including program adjustments Ensure part quality through first article inspections and in-process checks Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges Assist with training team members and improving production processes Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications:
3-5 years of CNC setup and operation experience Strong knowledge of CNC mills and/or lathes Ability to read blueprints and use inspection equipment Solid problem-solving and communication skills Previous leadership or shift lead experience preferred High school diploma or GED required
Schedule:
2nd shift (4 days/week, extended hours) with shift differential pay
Pay:
$27-$35/hour (based on experience) Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Thornton, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
