Electro-Methods, a Stronvar Aerospace Company Overview Electro-Methods, a Stronvar Aerospace company, is seeking a skilled CNC Turning Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC lathes to produce high-precision aerospace components. The CNC Turning Operator plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, adherence to engineering specifications, and compliance with industry standards in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC turning machines (lathes/VTL) to produce precision aerospace components per engineering drawings and traveler documentation. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements. Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and optical comparators. Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality. Perform routine machine maintenance, including tool changes, offsets, and minor troubleshooting. Complete required documentation and maintain accurate production records in compliance with AS9100 standards. Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams to resolve machining issues. Follow all company safety and quality policies, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications & Skills Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of CNC lathe or CNC turning experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop documentation. Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Additional Information Aerospace industry experience is preferred. Familiarity with Fanuc CNC controls is a plus. Knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP, or other regulated manufacturing standards is beneficial. Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives is desirable. Work environment includes a manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and shop-floor activity. Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs as required. May require second shift, overtime, or weekend work based on business needs.
