About Bischoff Aerospace Inc:
We are a growing company with over 20 years of commercial aviation turbine engine repair and component repair shop experience. We currently work on Rolls Royce RB211-535 and
IAE V2500 A1/A5
turbine engines. Key Responsibilities Precision Machining & Setup Set up and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC routers to machine aviation-grade materials such as aluminum alloys, titanium, composites, and honeycomb panels. Prepare fixtures, jigs, and tooling to support precision machining operations. Load materials in accordance with aerospace handling and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention requirements. Programming & Optimization Interpret CAD/CAM files, blueprints, and aerospace engineering drawings per GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5). Program CNC routers using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, CATIA, Siemens NX) to meet tight tolerances. Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and tool paths for optimal performance and surface finish quality. Machining Operate manual lathes as required. Quality Assurance & Compliance Perform first article inspections (FAI) in compliance with AS9102 standards. Measure and verify parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs). Document inspection results and maintain traceability for regulatory compliance. Follow FAA, EASA, and AS9100 quality management requirements. Maintenance & Safety Conduct preventive maintenance on CNC equipment and report mechanical/electrical issues. Maintain clean workstations in line with 5S and FOD control programs. Adhere strictly to aerospace safety and environmental standards, including PPE usage. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work with engineers and quality inspectors to resolve machining challenges. Suggest improvements to tooling, programming, and workflow to enhance productivity. Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent (technical/trade school preferred). 3+ years of CNC router or CNC machining experience, with at least 1 year in the aviation/aerospace industry. Familiarity with FAA regulations, aerospace quality standards, and
AS9100 QMS.
Skills & Abilities Proficiency with aerospace CAD/CAM software and G-code programming. Strong understanding of aviation-grade materials and machining characteristics. Ability to work to tolerances of ±0.005" or tighter. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Work Environment Controlled aerospace manufacturing environment with adherence to FOD prevention protocols. Requires wearing safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE. Exposure to high-speed machining, cutting fluids, and precision measuring equipment.
