This position is for our 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday, 2:30 AM - 01:00 AM. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC punch presses to efficiently produce precision sheet metal components. Your expertise in various fabrication techniques, including CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, and stamping, will ensure high-quality output that meets strict specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to the creation of complex metal assemblies in a fast-paced environment. Your mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to quality will drive success in this vital manufacturing role. Duties Operates CNC punch presses and related machinery such as CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC lathes, milling machines, and stamping presses to produce precise sheet metal parts. Programs CNC machines using CAD/CAM software to optimize production efficiency and accuracy. Reads and interprets detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to ensure parts meet quality standards. Sets up tooling, fixtures, and tooling changes efficiently for different jobs while maintaining safety protocols. Conducts quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and other tools to verify dimensions and tolerances. Performs routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime. Utilizes hand tools and fabrication equipment such as welding tools, hand tools, cranes, and forklifts to assist with assembly or material handling as needed. Maintains accurate documentation of production runs, inspection reports, and machine logs for traceability. Supports continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements for machining accuracy and productivity. Experience Proven experience operating CNC punch presses with a strong understanding of CNC programming principles. Hands-on knowledge of various manufacturing processes including CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, stamping, welding, and fabrication techniques. Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and the use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly and perform basic maintenance tasks. Experience working with sheet metal materials in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred. Ability to work safely with heavy equipment such as cranes and forklifts while adhering to safety protocols. Strong attention to detail combined with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and quality control. Prior experience in assembly operations or working with tooling setups is advantageous but not required.
