The ideal candidate has strong CNC milling and turning experience, can independently complete complex setups, edit programs, select tooling, inspect close-tolerance components, and resolve machining problems with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers. Review blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, and work orders. Load, edit, and troubleshoot G-code and M-code programs. Set work coordinates, tool offsets, fixture locations, and machine parameters. Select cutting tools, inserts, holders, feeds, and speeds. Perform complex machine setups and first-piece prove-outs. Manufacture close-tolerance components according to drawings and specifications. Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections. Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision instruments. Interpret GD&T, dimensional tolerances, and surface-finish requirements. Troubleshoot dimensional issues, tool wear, chatter, vibration, poor finishes, and machine-performance problems. Make program, tooling, and offset adjustments to maintain quality. Monitor cycle times, scrap, rework, machine utilization, and production output. Assist less-experienced CNC operators with setups, inspections, and troubleshooting. Recommend improvements to programs, tooling, workholding, cycle times, and production methods. Complete production, inspection, scrap, and downtime documentation. Perform basic machine maintenance and maintain clean, organized equipment. Follow all quality, machine-guarding, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements. Qualifications Five or more years of CNC machining experience is preferred. Advanced experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or CNC lathes. Ability to independently complete complex CNC setups. Experience editing and troubleshooting G-code and M-code. Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, feeds, speeds, offsets, and workholding.
