• Rockford, IL 425 Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CNC machinist to program, set up, and operate Haas Vertical Machining Centers in our modern Rockford facility.

This is not a production-only position — we are looking for a skilled machinist who can independently manage high-mix, low-volume work with efficiency, precision, and pride in craftsmanship. We continuously floor scrub and maintain our shop because we believe people deserve a workplace they can take pride in. We specialize in aftermarket mining and drill rig components shipped worldwide, while also supporting a steady flow of short-run general machining projects. About the Role Our core business is aftermarket mining and drill rig components, with weekly stock jobs typically ranging from 4-20 pieces. We also run a consistent flow of short-run general machining projects in similar quantities. We regularly encounter opportunities for 1-2 piece jobs made up of multiple completely different line items. This position allows us to pursue those smaller, high-mix projects without disrupting core production. This role will primarily operate a dedicated Haas Vertical Mill, with occasional operation of ProtoTRAK mills and other equipment as needed. Our EquipmentCNC Milling Equipment Haas TM-1P

• 18" chuck, 7" thru-bore, 60" max cut length Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate Haas Vertical Machining Centers Read and interpret blueprints and CAD models Select tooling, workholding, and machining strategy Efficiently manage frequent setups and changeovers Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards Assist on other machines as workload requires Maintain a clean and organized work area Ideal Candidate Strong experience programming at the control on Haas VMCs Comfortable with high-mix, low-volume work Efficient with short-run jobs (1-20 pieces) Solid understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and workholding Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Team-oriented with a strong work ethic Takes pride in quality workmanship and shop organization Schedule 1st
