Job Description
CNC Lathe Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Lathe Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate and set up CNC lathe machines, ensuring precision and efficiency in the production process. This role involves working with various machine controls and performing tasks as per provided work orders and blueprints. Responsibilities Operate and set up CNC lathe machines, including Okuma and Haas. Set up and align tool tables and offsets correctly. Select and pull the correct tooling for jobs according to work orders. Load the correct part program into machines as per work orders. Perform both short and long production runs. Identify and select the correct materials from inventory based on work orders. Conduct first piece inspections and quality checks. Perform basic preventative maintenance and keep the work area clean. Assist other employees as needed. Check parts for quality and specifications according to job documentation. Maintain accurate part counts and complete cycle time sheets. Adhere to safety rules and company policies. Essential Skills 3 to 5 years of experience with CNC controls. Ability to operate and set up Fanuc controls on Vertical Machining Centers. Capability to hold tolerances down to 5/10,000ths. Working knowledge of CNC machine work coordinate systems, tool length and diameter offsets. Proficiency in G, M, and S Codes with the ability to edit machine programs. Familiarity with shop math and solving shop math problems. Ability to read blueprints and work order instructions. Proficiency with measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and test indicators. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Advanced Machine Skills Training is a plus. Why Work Here? Work in a well-lit environment with a smaller team, fostering a family-like feel. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
