Job Description

Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable CNC Machine Operator to join our production team. You will be responsible for setting up and operating computer-controlled machines to produce precision aerospace components. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to quality, a solid understanding of blueprints, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
Key Responsibilities Machine Operation:
Set up and operate automated CNC vertical and horizontal milling and turning machines (3, 4, and 5-axis).
Precision Setup:
Accurately locate and identify X, Y, and Z axes; mount, align, and secure tools, fixtures, and workpieces.
Quality Control:
Use precision measuring instruments-including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and scales-to ensure parts meet strict customer specifications and tolerances.
Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret complex aerospace blueprints, sketches, and setup sheets.
Process Monitoring:
Monitor machine feeds and speeds; listen for irregular sounds (dull tools or vibration) and adjust controls to maintain part integrity.
Maintenance & Safety:
Perform daily point checks on equipment, initiate maintenance requests when needed, and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S standards).
Documentation:
Accurately record production data and job flow status using our ERP system (JobBOSS).
Qualifications & Skills Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Vocational training in machining is a plus.
Experience:
1-3+ years of experience in CNC machining (specifically with Mazak, Haas, or Fanuc controls) is preferred.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting shop blueprints. strong mathematical skills (fractions, decimals, and tolerances). Experience with manual deburring and part inspection.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 10 hours). Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs independently (up to 100 lbs with assistance).
Compliance:
Must meet ITAR requirements (u.s. citizen or permanent resident) due to the nature of aerospace contracts.
