Job Description

Job Title:
CNC Mill Operator Job Description This role involves setting up and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality components for medical and aerospace applications. You will interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings, perform precise machining operations on equipment such as Haas, Fanuc, or Mazak mills, and verify that finished parts meet strict specifications using precision measuring tools. You will work closely with a collaborative team in a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Set up CNC milling machines, including configuring tooling, fixtures, and offsets to meet job specifications. Operate CNC vertical mills and related equipment to produce parts for medical, aerospace, and other high-reliability applications. Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings to ensure correct machine setup and part production. Perform edits to CNC programs and machine codes as needed to optimize performance and ensure dimensional accuracy. Monitor machining operations and make appropriate adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. Identify and report any defects, nonconformances, or issues with parts, tooling, or equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with cleanroom-adjacent manufacturing standards. Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to resolve production issues and improve processes. Follow all safety procedures and company policies while operating machinery and handling materials. Essential Skills 1-4 years of milling experience operating CNC mills, preferably Haas, Fanuc, or Mazak equipment. Hands-on experience with CNC machine setup, including tooling, fixturing, and offset adjustments. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing drawings accurately. Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers for part inspection. Familiarity with editing CNC codes and making minor program adjustments at the machine control. Experience working with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems. Experience in machining within a machine shop environment, including vertical mill operation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate components. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC programming is a significant plus. Previous experience performing both setups and edits on CNC milling equipment. Exposure to machining parts for medical, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries. Comfort working with Haas, Fanuc, or Mazak brand machines and related controls. Solid understanding of basic machining principles, inspection methods, and shop math. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work a daytime schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in a clean, well-maintained manufacturing facility. Production occurs in a cleanroom-type setting, and this role operates in an adjacent, closely controlled area that supports those operations. The environment is organized, safety-focused, and equipped with modern CNC milling machines such as Haas, Fanuc, or Mazak, along with precision inspection tools like micrometers and calipers. You will collaborate with a team of skilled machinists and technicians, following standard manufacturing procedures and safety practices throughout your shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beverly, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
