Over the past few years, we have significantly expanded our capacity with state-of-the-art CNC turning and milling centers. We are seeking an experienced and self-directed Production ready CNC Lathe Operator ready to take immediate ownership of setup and running machines across our CNC department. You must have experience running lathes in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC setup and programming for lathe machines. Optimize tool paths and processes to ensure maximum efficiency and the highest quality output. Load, download, and verify CNC programs and offset data. Make necessary tool compensation adjustments (offsets, feeds, and speeds) to optimize part quality and cycle time. Safely operate CNC lathes or other production machinery through various stages of the manufacturing process, monitoring machine performance to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation. Identify, diagnose, and resolve basic machine alarms, cutting tool failures, and minor production deviations with minimal supervision. Execute routine preventative maintenance on machines, which includes cleaning, lubricating, and completing daily checks to maintain equipment longevity and accuracy. Accurately complete all required production logs, quality inspection reports, and documentation regarding part counts, machine downtime, and materials used. Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, procedures, and quality standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area at all times. Load raw materials into the machine and safely remove finished components, ensuring proper identification and handling to prevent damage. Solve problems independently and take initiative on process improvements. Maintain the utmost care for quality and adhere to stringent inspection standards. Qualifications Proven, hands-on experience in CNC setup, programming, and operation (G-code proficiency). All programming of CNC machines is done at the control at MMC. A strong dedication to precision machining and quality control. The ability to work autonomously and manage your workflow without direct supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting. High School Diploma or GED preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in a machine shop with production machining.
