Position Summary:
The CNC Operator I is responsible for the production setup, operation, and routine (PM) maintenance on assigned CNC equipment.
Essential Functions:
Ability to change tools, ?home? machine and reset machine to starting point from de-energized state Set up fixtures, tooling and machine set points to accommodate product to be machined Retrieve the appropriate CNC program from electronic files Verify programming actions meet Shop Sheet requirements Load product into or onto the CNC, locating the material correctly to layout marks or fixed stop locations Adhere to all process instructions, including quality checks Offload machine without damage to material Ability to safely and appropriately shut machine down to a de-energized state Empty chip collection receptacles as needed Complete necessary and assigned preventative maintenance in prescribed frequency Daily clean up of area inside and outside of the machine to be free of chips, dust and debris Follow all safety policies and procedures and work in a manner so as not to create a health and safety hazard to oneself and coworkers.
Non-Essential Functions:
Maintains a neat, orderly, and organized work area at all times. Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Job Specifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools. Knowledge of workplace safety; including safe lifting procedures. Ability to read, comprehend and carry-out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to measure and perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Basic computer skills Organizational, communication and listening skills
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate office equipment, and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to talk and hear. Frequently required to sit for long periods of time. Required to occasionally stand and walk. Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 125-pounds with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required include:
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Safety glasses are required on the production floor at all times. Hearing protection is required in designated areas. Occasionally subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current and exposure to heat and chemicals. Occasionally subject to conditions including one or more of the following that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, or poor ventilation. Occasionally exposed to cold, hot, wet and/or humid shop conditions.
