MI Position Overview A growing precision manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Swiss Lathe Specialist to support high-volume, tight-tolerance machining operations within a state-of-the-art production environment. This position is responsible for operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining Swiss-style CNC machines while ensuring exceptional quality, efficiency, and productivity standards. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented machinist with experience operating Swiss CNC equipment, reading complex blueprints, interpreting GD&T requirements, and maintaining consistent production quality. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced machining technology while supporting customers across aerospace, medical, defense, agriculture, and commercial manufacturing industries. Key Responsibilities CNC Machine Operation Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss-style CNC machines and/or mill-turn equipment Monitor machine performance and production output to ensure efficiency and quality standards are achieved Perform machine adjustments and troubleshooting to minimize downtime Maintain safe and efficient machine operation throughout production runs Quality & Inspection Perform dimensional inspections utilizing: Calipers Micrometers Precision measuring instruments Read and interpret: Blueprints Engineering drawings Schematics GD&T specifications Ensure all finished components meet customer and quality requirements Maintain documentation and quality records as required Production & Workplace Organization Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area Support continuous improvement efforts within the machining department Follow established manufacturing procedures and safety standards Communicate production concerns and improvement opportunities to leadership Team Support Collaborate with supervisors, programmers, engineers, and fellow machinists to support production goals Demonstrate a proactive, team-oriented approach to problem-solving Assist with training and knowledge-sharing when appropriate Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience Experience operating Swiss-style CNC machines and/or mill-turn equipment Strong understanding of GD&T principles Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings Experience utilizing precision measuring instruments Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Effective communication skills Ability to stand and walk throughout a 12-hour shift Preferred Experience within aerospace, medical, defense, or precision manufacturing environments Setup and troubleshooting experience on Swiss CNC equipment Experience working with tight-tolerance components Continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on efficiency and quality Core Competencies Swiss CNC Machining CNC Setup & Operation Mill-Turn Machining Blueprint Reading GD&T Interpretation Precision Measurement Quality Control Troubleshooting Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Safety Attention to Detail Teamwork & Communication MOHR Talent is an equal-opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local nondiscrimination laws.
