In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, programming, and setting up CNC machines to produce precision parts efficiently and accurately. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling, and measurement will ensure that production runs smoothly while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment in a dynamic environment dedicated to continuous improvement and excellence.
THIS ROLE IS SPEARHEADING A NEW PRODUCT PRODUCT LINE.
Responsibilities Set up CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, including installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications. Program CNC machines using CAM programming software and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure precise machining. Conduct machine calibration and alignment using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Monitor machining processes during production runs, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance and maintain quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), Fanuc controls, or other machine components. Read and interpret complex blueprints and mechanical drawings for plastics injection molding parts or other manufactured components. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling to support setup tasks or minor repairs. Maintain detailed documentation of setups, adjustments, and inspections to ensure traceability and compliance with lean manufacturing principles. Support assembly operations when required, utilizing knowledge of plastics molding processes or other manufacturing techniques. Experience Proven experience operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code; experience with CAM software is preferred. Familiarity with GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding techniques, and tooling management. Ability to read complex blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files using SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Experience working with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Knowledge of Fanuc controls or other CNC control systems is highly desirable. Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements. Physical ability to operate forklifts safely when handling raw materials or finished parts; familiarity with lean manufacturing practices is a plus.
