Job Description
We are looking for a CNC Machine Operator to join our team and help us produce high-quality components. In this role, you will operate and program CNC Gundrill machines to produce precise components, ensuring efficient and accurate production. Your mechanical knowledge and expertise in CNC programming and blueprint reading will be crucial to our success. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Gundrill machines, adhering to specifications and safety standards to ensure optimal performance. Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software, optimizing machining processes to enhance production efficiency. Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings accurately, ensuring parts are produced to exact specifications. Conduct quality inspections throughout the machining process, ensuring parts meet required specifications and standards. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols to promote a safe and efficient workspace. Select appropriate tooling and setups for various materials, such as plastics and metals, to ensure optimal machining results. Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste, enhancing overall efficiency. Troubleshoot CNC equipment, including CNC lathe and milling machines with Fanuc controls, to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. Qualifications Required Skills Proven experience operating CNC Gundrill machines or similar CNC machining equipment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code. Proficiency in reading blueprints and applying GD&T principles for precision manufacturing. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling, fixtures, and machining processes. Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines effectively. Preferred Skills Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus. Experience with SolidWorks or CAD software for part design review is desirable. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency. Knowledge of manufacturing environments including plastics injection molding is advantageous. Valid forklift certification is preferred for material handling tasks.
