Job Description

  • CNC Machine Operator - Structural Steel - up to $26 per hour
  • This role operates a variety of CNC machinery to cut, drill, and process structural steel components according to detailed shop drawings and CNC programs. The position focuses on safe and efficient machine operation, accurate interpretation of blueprints, and rigorous quality control to ensure parts meet structural and fabrication standards.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Operate CNC machinery such as beam lines, drill lines, plate processors, CNC saws, plasma tables, laser cutters, oxy-fuel cutting machines, mills, lathes, and shears to process structural steel components.
+ Load, verify, and execute CNC programs generated from CAD/CAM or detailing software, ensuring the correct files and settings for each job. + Monitor machine operations continuously to ensure proper cutting, drilling, profiling, and overall part quality. + Make minor program edits and offset adjustments, as authorized, to account for tool wear, material variation, and dimensional accuracy. + Identify and verify material types, including steel grades, plate thicknesses, and beam sizes, before and during processing. + Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings, cut lists, layout marks, hole patterns, and CNC data files. + Verify part dimensions, hole patterns, profiles, and bolt layouts against drawings, including awareness of slotting requirements, edge distances, and tolerances.
  • Essential Skills
  • + At least 6 months of machine operating experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or machining environment.
+ Hands-on experience operating CNC machines such as beam lines, drill lines, plate processors, plasma/oxy-fuel cutters, CNC saws, mills, lathes, and shears. + Ability to load, verify, and run CNC programs generated from CAD/CAM or detailing software. + Capability to make minor CNC program edits and offset adjustments for tool wear and material variation, within established guidelines.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
