In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, to produce precision parts efficiently and accurately. Your expertise in programming, tooling, and measuring will ensure high-quality output while maintaining safety and operational standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence in manufacturing. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to determine machining requirements. Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and verify programs for accuracy before production runs. Set up CNC equipment, including loading tooling, adjusting fixtures, and calibrating machines such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with Fanuc controls. Operate precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to ensure parts meet strict tolerances. Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to optimize performance. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assemble components or perform secondary operations such as welding or finishing. Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall quality in the production process. Experience Proven experience working as a CNC Set Up Operator or in a similar machining role within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with CAM programming software is highly preferred. Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings to accurately interpret specifications. Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, or assembly is a plus. Skilled in operating precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and fixture setup. Ability to work safely with power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and other manufacturing tools while adhering to safety protocols.
