Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CNC Set Up Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for set up and operating a variety of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise will ensure efficient production processes, adherence to safety protocols, and the delivery of high-quality finished products. Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot machining operations to ensure quality and optimum machine performance.
  • Work from layouts, drawings, routings, charts and instructions.
  • Download programs to lathes, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, and doing offsets.
  • Set up lathes by installing tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops and stock pushers, indicating vices.
  • Obtain first piece inspection and check work frequently using micrometers and various gauges to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Set up tooling, perform related duties and move materials as required.
  • Report faulty, defective material and unusual conditions to lead person or supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills Knowledge of CNC machining processes Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings Experience operating shop math tools like calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues effectively. Ability to handle materials safely in a manufacturing environment with warehouse experience preferred. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments to ensure a safe working space for all team members.
Pay:
$20.00 - $32.00 per hour
