What You'll Do:
This position is responsible for the setup and operation of 5-Axis CNC Mills in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications. Set up and operate 5-Axis CNC machines to machine flat, contoured, and formed parts Machine to tight tolerances (as tight as ±.005") Act as a technical resource regarding tooling and machining capabilities Evaluate and justify new tooling and machining processes Load programs, set tools, fixtures, and establish tool offsets Mentor and train Machinist I, II, and III team members Take the lead on large projects from start to completion Interact with engineers on part design and manufacturability Communicate issues related to work orders, programming errors, and material discrepancies Maintain focus on reducing material waste, labor inefficiencies, and scrap Perform minor preventative maintenance as required Document redlines and advise on corrective actions Perform R D machining work as directed Accurately record labor time for job tracking Maintain a clean and organized work area Promote and demonstrate safety in accordance with company policy What's in it for

Have:
Experience machining various plastics (WPP, NPP, FRPP, Polycarbonate, PVC, Acrylic, UHMW, Delrin, PTFE, PFA, PVDF) and other materials including metals Ability to machine to ±.005 tolerance Experience using rotary tables, divider heads, and mill vises Demonstrated tooling design capabilities Strong troubleshooting skills in machining and setup Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings (metric, decimal, and fractional inch) and Bills of Materials Experience setting up manual machines using appropriate tooling and fixtures Ability to operate manual mills and lathes Experience setting up CNC machines including loading programs, tooling, fixtures, and offsets Ability to read and understand machine codes Skilled in using precision measuring devices in thousandths (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.) Ability to identify cutting tools and materials Ability to deburr parts to specification Cross-trained in at least one additional machining discipline 2-3+ years of 5-Axis machining experience CNC programming experience Experience in high-tolerance, low-volume manufacturing environments
