Job Description

CNC OPERATOR/Trainee
MANUFACTURING
Germansville, PA 2 DAYS AGO 22866066 Summary Germansville, PA In-Person $22.00 - $25.00 per Hour 0 Years Experience High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED) No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description CNC Machinist Trainee — Custom Woodworking No CNC Experience Required. We Will Train You. Grothouse | Germansville & Schnecksville, PA |Full-Time, Days M-F | $22-$25/hour to start Grothouse is a nationally recognized manufacturer of luxury wood surfaces, architectural millwork, custom tables, stair components, and specialty wood products. Our work is found in some of the finest homes and commercial spaces across North America. We stock more than 60 species of wood, and every project is engineered one at a time — this is not production-line work. We are not looking for an experienced CNC operator. We are looking for someone curious, hard-working, and hungry to learn a real skilled trade — and we will teach you the rest. The Job You will learn to set up and run CNC machines cutting solid wood for some of the highest-end woodwork made anywhere. You'll start with material handling, machine loading, and basic operation, and grow into setup, tooling, fixturing, reading drawings, and over time, programming. We will train you in 3D parametric CAD such as Solidworks or Inventor as you advance. Your wage grows as your skills grow — we build our best people from the ground up and promote from within. Who Thrives Here People who build, fix, and tinker — cars, woodworking, 3D printing, electronics, anything. If you take things apart to see how they work, you're our kind of person. People who ask questions and genuinely want to master a craft, not just clock hours. People who take pride in precise, careful work and own the quality of what they produce. Reliable people who communicate well with coworkers about project details. What You Must Bring Genuine curiosity and desire to learn — this is the most important requirement, and we mean it. Physical capability: this is demanding work. Much of what we build weighs well over 75 lbs — expect repeated heavy lifting, with and without assistance. We discuss the physical demands in detail during interviews. Basic math and comfort with measurement; willingness to learn to read drawings. Any experience with machining, CNC, woodworking, countertops, or shop equipment is a plus — but not required. Schedule & Flex Time We run flex time from day one. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday day-shift role, but you set a schedule that works for your life — come in earlier or later, and if you have a doctor's appointment or your kid's game, shift your hours instead of burning time off. We built this policy because we think punishing someone for being three minutes late is a stupid way to run a company. Compensation & Benefits $22-$25/hour to start, depending on experience and capability — progressing to $26-$30/hour at full mastery of the machines, with continued wage growth from there. Company-paid retirement contribution: Grothouse contributes 3% of your gross earnings to your 401(k) every pay period, whether or not you contribute a dime of your own. Flex time from day one, as described above. Paid vacation and 8 paid holidays. Employee, friends, and family discounts. How to Apply E-mail your resume to hr@glumber.com. In your application, tell us about something you've built, fixed, taken apart, or taught yourself — woodworking, cars, 3D printing, code, anything. We read every one.
