CNC Machine Operator Why Work Here? Responsibilities Operate a CNC beam line machine to drill holes and mill slots in structural steel beams, angles, channels, and other shapes. Select, load, and input CNC programs using a computer, ensuring correct settings for each job. Set up machines, including choosing appropriate tools and verifying workpiece alignment before running programs. Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements. Use measuring devices, including tape measures and other precision tools, to verify part dimensions and ensure accuracy. Monitor machine operations, inspect finished parts, and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards. Perform basic steel layout work to prepare materials for machining and fabrication. Operate and assist with additional equipment such as drill presses, band saws, grinders, presses, and shears as needed. Prior experience with CNC punch press operations is preferred. Work Environment This role is based in a busy fabrication and weld shop that can be dirty and is not heated, so temperatures can be cold, especially in cooler seasons. The position is in the fabrication department and involves heavy production work and heavy lifting. You will operate a variety of heavy machinery, and the environment can be loud at times due to ongoing fabrication and machining activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leola, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
