CNC Large Mill Operator -

Warren, PA Schedule:

Monday-Friday | 40-55 hours per week

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Large Mill Operator to set up and operate large CNC and manual milling machines. The ideal candidate will be able to independently perform complex setups, read and interpret blueprints, make machine adjustments, and produce precision-machined components that meet specifications. Candidates with 5+ years of CNC milling experience and at least 2 years of complete setup experience are preferred. A strong machining background, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently are important for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, routers, and work instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, setup requirements, and sequence of operations. Set up and operate large CNC and manual milling machines. Load and properly secure raw materials, ensuring correct alignment and positioning. Perform complex setups of large workpieces with minimal assistance. Select appropriate cutting tools, feeds, and speeds based on material and machining requirements. Load CNC programs and tooling into machines and verify programs prior to production runs. Make minor program or machine adjustments to optimize cutting speeds, feed rates, and tool paths. Monitor machine operation for tool wear, vibration, unusual sounds, defects, or out-of-tolerance conditions and make adjustments as necessary. Inspect finished work to ensure machined features meet router, blueprint, and customer specifications. Accurately use precision measuring and inspection equipment, including micrometers and calipers. Safely lift and maneuver large parts, including parts weighing up to 20 tons , using overhead cranes and appropriate material-handling equipment. Maintain accurate job logs, routers, inspection records, and other required documentation. Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and safe. Follow all company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Technical degree or formal training in machining is preferred. 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred. At least 2 years of CNC machine setup experience preferred. Experience operating large CNC mills is strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and routers. Knowledge of CNC machine operation, setup, and G-code programming. Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills. Experience using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts. May occasionally be exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Required to wear appropriate eye, foot, and other personal protective equipment. Frequent squatting, climbing, pushing/pulling, reaching, and grasping. May occasionally bend, twist, reach above the shoulder, and perform other physical movements required for machining and material handling. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 35 lbs. Ability to safely work around and operate overhead cranes for handling large components. Moderate noise levels are typical of the work environment.

Schedule & Hours:

Full-time, Monday-Friday. Typical schedule includes 10-hour days Monday-Thursday . 40-55 hours per week depending on production requirements. Flexible scheduling may be required. Occasional 12-hour shifts may be necessary to meet production and delivery schedules. Saturdays may be required on an as-needed basis.
